BLUMAQ 25th Anniversary

A trip to Valencia Spain to attend the 25th Anniversary of Blumaq in September this year only reiterated to BMG Owner Cameron Blake that he had made the right decision in sourcing after-market parts for their Sunshine Coast based business – BMG Parts.

When Cameron saw a need to expand into parts he began researching opportunities for after-market Volvo construction spare parts. He could see the need for a competitive product as an alternative to OEM and genuine parts – something that wasn’t at the time available in Queensland.  His research led him to a number of destinations and finally to Blumaq in Spain –here he discovered alternative spare parts for Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu Cummins and Case.  Cameron travelled to meet with the Blumaq Team and assess the viability of sourcing after-market parts from a business on the other side of the world. Given communication and transport options available today he was not worried so much about logistics as making sure of the quality of the product. What he saw impressed him and so began what has proved to be a very successful business partnership. Today BMG Parts is the exclusive distributor for after-market Volvo construction spare parts in both Australia and New Zealand. Having visited Blumaq on several occasions Cameron was keen to show BMG Parts Manager John Mulhearn first-hand the impressive facilities, technology and the diverse range of parts available.

Blumaq’s commitment to expansion aims to see them as the foremost supplier of replacement parts and maintenance products for construction and mining equipment around the world. From inception, Blumaq has strived to constantly improve the range of parts available to meet BMG’s growing demands.  The reputation of BMG Parts to supply affordable quality parts is what has helped the business grow. For Parts Manager John Mulhearn, the opportunity to attend Blumaq’s 25th Celebrations enabled him to see first-hand the facilities available and meet with Blumaq Team members. He was impressed with the 3 business centres he visited – administration, manufacturing and the recently completed technical facility. Here was a state of the art setup. John was keen to meet the Blumaq team that he had been dealing with from afar via phone and internet, and to be able to put a face to a name.

From its very humble beginnings some 25 years ago the sale of Blumaq’s first spare part started their history.  In excess of 500 attended the Blumaq 25th Anniversary celebrations and were warmly acknowledged during the proceedings for the part they had played in the success of the business.
