BMG expands parts warehouse
The summer has been kind to us and we have been spared the excruciatingly hot days. In January and February, the new BMG Parts warehouse mezzanine level was completed. This complements the implementation, over the last 18 months, of a new BMG Parts inventory system which better allows us to monitor stock and utilise the new space.
The new mezzanine level means more inventory space to stock more parts, and for the customer, it means we can fill more of your orders immediately getting your earthmoving machines back working with minimal downtime. The start of 2018 has seen a positive shift in the earthmoving and construction business landscape, meaning we are receiving more calls, and processing more quotes for machinery spare parts. This in turn is leading to more parts orders being despatched from the BMG Parts warehouse to various locations around the country. Monthly stock orders for January and February have been received and we are expecting the March stock order to arrive soon.
Like all businesses, we are always improving our systems and processes, and with the implementation of the new inventory program, we have a great platform in which to build on and expand our parts business. With new and improved systems, and more inventory space, our aim this year, as it is every year is to maintain a high level of customer service to our ever-increasing customer data base. We believe that we have the right product and that it is very reasonably priced, but the icing on the cake for our operation will be the service that we provide to our customers. Ways to improve our dealings with our customers this year will be by correctly identifying our customers fleet, i.e. adding machine details to our customers database, such as machine make, model, and serial numbers. This will ensure we know what machinery you hold in your fleet so we can stock the right parts to keep your machinery working with minimal downtime.
